You guys must have definitely heard about Picasa. If you haven’t it’s one of the Google’s free tool and it runs marvelously. Words alone cannot convey their usefulness and all I can say is that please give this software a try. If you’re lazy in Photoshop like some of the photographers around the world, then Picasa is for you. If you’re not very well versed in Photoshop or Gimp, then Picasa is for you. If you’re an artist and cannot be bothered to waste your time changing the colors of your picture then Picasa is for you. In fact, Picasa is one of the best editing software up to date but why it cannot beat the likes like Photoshop or Gimp?

One simple reason is because Picasa does not have fine tuning control.

So this is what I did. If I were to shoot event and they don’t need any watermarking or any sort, then I’ll use Picasa. However if there are some model shoot that requires a concise template for cut and paste, then most probably I’ll have to resort to Photoshop and Gimp. However, based on the performance, I’d say that everything comes out of Picasa is strangely better-looking than Photoshop or Gimp. Perhaps it’s my lack of skill in Photoshop or Gimp? It’s hard to say.

There are some others who used both Picasa and Photoshop together. Because of Picasa’s fill light control greatly outweigh Photoshop, what they did is that they used Picasa’s advantage, save it and then use Photoshop to fine-tune their picture.

Oh, and if don’t know how to Google, use this direct link: http://picasa.google.com/
